2017 has been a great year in The Tricycle Shop. Donations of stock from the local community in Alton have continued to increase and thanks also to donations from our friends in London we have been able to keep the shop full with interesting, quality goods.
Sales have increased with people choosing to visit the shop from as far away as Southampton and London due to positive recommendations. Customers are always complimentary on the friendliness of the staff in the shop and we work hard to make it a welcoming place to visit.
We had sad news when one of our most loyal volunteers, who had been with us since the opening of the shop, passed away. Josie Payne was a true asset to the shop and will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Four new volunteers have joined the Tricycle this year and the team have continued to support each other and work hard in the best interest of the shop.
This year, in addition to supporting IRFF we have also donated to local charities including Thrive, a charity that supports people through gardening, Step by Step which helps young homeless people and the Kingsley centre which supports adults with disabilities. We have also continued to support Kidney Care UK.
Michelle’s talks on Uganda have continued to pay dividends with the Alton Womens Institute ladies choosing to sew and fill sanitary bags for the ladies in Uganda, which will shortly be sent out. Michelle has several more talks booked in for next year.
The Tricycle Shop team has really enjoyed supporting IRFF and all the brilliant work that is going on in Uganda this year and hope we can continue raising lots of money next year!
