On the 5th, 6th & 7th of May volunteers will walk all or part of the ancient Pilgrims' Way from Winchester to Canterbury. 100% of the funds raised will go towards 2 projects, in East and West Africa.
IRFF-UK has received a grant from the Rotary club for books and furnishings for a library at Destiny school and IRFF will construct the building during the summer of 2018.
Also in the summer of 2018 a group will travel from both the UK and Uganda to Ghana to support a nationwide campaign to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS in Ghana.
Details are as follows:
Day1: meet at Winchester Cathedral 7.30am, walk starts 8.00. Staying overnight at the Mulberry near Farnham station. Room for 6 people.
Day2: meet outside Farnham railway station 9.30am, walk starts 10am. Late lunch at the Good Intent pub in Puttenham. Camping overnight in the forest. Day walkers can walk into Guildford (and take train back to London).
Day3: walk to Shalford, meet 3rd day walkers 9.30am at Pilgrims Way crossing. Walking towards Dorking, to Gomshall and meet transport around 6-7pm.
Items to bring:
Good socks, walking boots or shoes.
Energy bars, nuts, apples, etc.
Bottle of water
Rucksack (small for day walkers!)
Sleeping bag, toothbrush, etc. for campers
