Our vision

Menstrual health education and support in Ghana

Led by Vivian Nkasia, the Ghana Period Poverty initiative focuses on providing young women with the education and resources they need to manage their menstrual health. So far, the project has reached 600 girls, equipping them with reusable sanitary pads and crucial menstrual health education. This effort not only improves their hygiene but also empowers them with knowledge that can lead to healthier futures.

WAIT Ghana collaboration

This initiative runs in parallel with WAIT Ghana, another project led by Vivian Nkasia. WAIT Ghana focuses on purity education to prevent HIV/AIDS among young people. From 2024, WAIT Ghana will also begin distributing reusable pads and providing menstrual health education, working closely with local communities. This integrated approach further highlights the dedication of charities in Ghana to improving the lives of vulnerable populations.
Let's create futures for those who dream

Vocational training and sustainable support

In addition to menstrual health education, Vivian is coordinating vocational training for five girls in pastry/cake decoration, bread making, and dressmaking. This training empowers young women with skills that can lead to sustainable income, further enhancing their independence and well-being.

How we fund Ghana Period Poverty

The Ghana Period Poverty initiative is entirely funded by dedicated donations, with IRFF UK providing £175 per month to sustain this critical work. This funding allows us to continue supporting young women with the resources they need to manage their menstrual health effectively.

Vivian can have a 3-pad pack made for £5. This pack will last for 2 years or more.

So every £5 donations helps one girl to manage her periods for 2 years or more, cleanly, safely and effectively
