Charity work in Uganda Empowering girls through education, Girl Child (WAIT) Project
At IRFF UK, we believe every girl deserves the opportunity to stay in school and achieve her dreams. Our charity work in Uganda is tackling period poverty through the Girl Child (WAIT) project, transforming lives and empowering communities.
Together We Can Make a Difference
Help girls in Uganda stay in school
Since 2014, the Girl Child (WAIT) project has been making a profound impact in Kibiri, Busabala, and Kampala. For too many girls, the lack of access to sanitary products means missing school during their periods or dropping out entirely.
With Jesca and Sylvia leading the initiative, we’re changing that by providing: - Menstrual hygiene education - Monthly supplies of disposable pads and knickers
Thanks to this support, over 400 girls in three schools – Destiny Junior, Busabala Primary, and Jjungo Primary and Secondary School – can now attend school with confidence and dignity.

What changes can be made:
Your generosity can help us: - Keep more girls in school - Break the cycle of poverty through education - Empower young women to build brighter futures
Real stories, real impact
"Before this project, I had to stay home every month because I didn’t have pads. Now, I can attend school every day and dream of becoming a nurse." – A beneficiary
Jesca, one of our project leaders, shares: ""This is a very impactful program, most of the beneficiaries are the poor of the poorest local child in those poor communities and very needy lake shore child. The schools, children and parents are very much grateful for the love and support , you have given them hope."
Let's create futures for those who dream
